My name is Ryan DeVries, and I graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan in January 2012 with undergraduate degrees in international relations and Mandarin Chinese. From August 2012 to June 2013, I will be serving as an English Teaching Assistant (ETA) through the Fulbright Program in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Kaohsiung is a port city in southern Taiwan that is home to roughly 2.7 million Taiwanese.
Following a month of orientation in August, I will be partnering with Taiwanese English teachers at two local schools. I will be working with Teacher Jenny at Zuoying Elementary School (左營國民小學) and Teacher Evelyn at Sanmin Elementary School (三民國民小學). I am eager to share with you my experiences throughout the next year. Thanks for reading!
